Dr. Rohit Kumar is the current Head of Surgery Department at Medeor 24X7 Hospital Dubai. He comes with a wealth of experience and expertise in the field of advanced Laparoscopic, Bariatric and Endoscopic Thyroid Surgery. After successfully completing general surgical training from Army Hospital Research & Referral, Delhi, India, he went on to do fellowship in Laparoscopy & Bariatric surgery from Sir Ganga Ram Hospital. He later underwent advanced laparoscopy training at Athens Medical Centre, Greece, before obtaining fellowship from Chiba University, Japan, in hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery training, followed by fellowship in endoscopic surgery from France and Thailand. Dr. Kumar completed MD in general surgery from Kazakh State Medical University Almaty, Kazakhstan.

Dr. Kumar has been involved in a number of research collaborations and field studies and is a life time member of International Association of Surgeons Gastroenterologists and Oncologists (IASGO); International Bariatric Club (IBC); Association of Surgeons of India (ASI); Indian Association of Colorectal Surgeons (IACSR); Indian Association of Gastro-Endo Surgeons (IAGES); Obesity Surgery Society of India (OSSI) and Association of Minimal Access Surgery of India (AMASI), among many others.
